BBC Pundit Backs Chelsea Or United To Seal British Record Transfer Deal For 19 Year Old

Danny Murphy believes it is only a matter of time before Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho breaks the British record transfer fee.

The BBC pundit is tipping the 19-year-old to return to the Premier League, and he thinks either Chelsea or Manchester United will table an offer which Dortmund won’t be able to refuse:

“Jadon Sancho’s statistics for a teenager are out of this world, particularly when talented young wingers sometimes struggle with an end product I can see him moving from the Bundesliga to either Chelsea or Manchester United in 2020.”

“The fee will surpass the current record of £89million for Paul Pogba and I can’t see Dortmund turning that down.”

Sancho has also been linked with the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, Barcelona and Real Madrid but Chelsea are said to be ones keenest to make a move for the England international.

With Willian and Pedro’s contracts expiring in the summer, manager Frank Lampard is looking to strengthen in wide areas, with the teenager reportedly topping his list of targets.

Sancho has been in excellent form for Dortmund this season, having scored 12 goals and laid on 13 assists in just 24 games. The winger will certainly cost a sizeable sum, but it remains to be seen if the Blues will break the transfer record for him as Murphy believes.
