Chelsea have “long-term admiration” for Sporting Lisbon head coach Ruben Amorim, according to the Daily Mail.
Following the Blues’ 5-0 defeat to Arsenal on Tuesday night, there has been increasing speculation about the future of Mauricio Pochettino. With most fans on X losing patience with the current manager, many would back the appointment of Amorim, with some even suggesting that the club should hire him now due to interest from other teams:
We might miss out on him if we don’t act fast

Amorim has been linked with two other jobs in the Premier League
For a number of weeks, the 39-year-old was the favourite to replace Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, but the Reds have now made Feyenoord boss Arne Slot their preferred candidate, having opened talks with the Dutchman and his club.
It is believed that West Ham have also held face-to-face talks with Amorim but the Portuguese manager is said to be unenthusiastic about taking the job at the London Stadium.
Chelsea are considering other candidates
The Mail claim that Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi could also come under consideration if Pochettino is sacked. The Italian is reportedly open to leaving the Seagulls at the end of the season.
However, after their experience with Graham Potter, it remains to be seen whether Chelsea would consider appointing another head coach from the south coast club.
