Chelsea are lining up a bid of £100m for Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho, according to the Daily Mail. The newspaper claims the Blues are prepared to break their transfer record for the 19-year-old.
With the London club’s transfer ban having been lifted, manager Frank Lampard appears to have prioritised a move for the England international in the January transfer window.
Sancho has been linked with a number of clubs, including Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City, Barcelona and Real Madrid, and Chelsea will have a fight on their hands in order to secure his signature.
However, the Blues are hopeful the Dortmund’s star’s friendship with Callum Hudson-Odoi could help the move to go ahead.
Lampard is not short of wingers, with Christian Pulisic, Pedro and Willian also in the squad, but with doubts over the latter two’s future, it appears the club are being proactive in their search for replacements.
