Two Clubs Circle As Chelsea Opt To Sanction £6m Loan Exit For Defender

Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen is attracting interest from both Borussia Dortmund and Juventus, according to reports in the UK.

The Danish international would be allowed to leave on loan this month with the Blues believed to be demanding a fee of £6m.

Christensen does remain in manager Maurizio Sarri’s plans after being picked to face Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup on Sunday.

However, the 22-year-old is not a regular first-team player, having featured just once in the Premier League so far this campaign.

It would still be a surprise, though, if Chelsea do sanction a loan switch without first bringing in cover at the back.

Gary Cahill has been given permission to leave the club this month with his contract expiring in the summer. Although the Blues captain’s transfer to Fulham fell through, he could yet move before deadline day.

With that being the case, Christensen’s exit doesn’t seem to be an absolute certainty at the moment.
