Premier League Side Have Deal Agreed To Sign Chelsea Captain

Chelsea have agreed to sell captain Gary Cahill to Fulham, according to reports in the English media.

However, the 32-year-old is still mulling over his future and isn’t decided on whether he wants to make the switch to Craven Cottage.

On Friday, Fulham boss Claudio Ranieri hinted that Cahill had yet to make up his mind over the possible move, indicating he only wanted the centre-back if he was ready for the relegation fight:

“I don’t know, Gary is a very important player and for us, it would be fantastic but I don’t know if he wants to come and fight with us.”

Cahill has spent seven years at Stamford Bridge, making 289 appearances for the Blues during that time. The arrival of Maurizio Sarri as manager has, though, seen his game time reduced significantly.

The defender has started only six games, all coming in the Europa League and Carabao Cup. He has made just one brief substitute appearance in the league this campaign, in the 0-0 draw against West Ham back in September.

Cahill has also been linked with moves to Arsenal and Manchester United, as well as Championship sides Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday, over the past few months.
