Turkish Giants Line Up Offer For Chelsea Star With Contract Situation Still Unresolved

Besiktas are looking to sign Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud, according to reports in Turkey.

The France international’s contract expires in the summer, and he will be able to talk to foreign clubs in January about a free transfer switch at the end of the season.

Giroud signed an 18-month deal with the Blues after his £15m move from Arsenal and he has scored five goals in his 23 appearances for the club.

Besiktas are reportedly hoping to tempt him into a move to Turkey with a lucrative contract, with his future at Stamford Bridge yet to be decided.

The Frenchman started the season as understudy to Alvaro Morata but the Spaniard’s struggles in front of goal mean the 31-year-old has the chance to stake his claim to be first choice under new manager Maurizio Sarri.

The striker started the last Premier League game against Cardiff City last weekend, providing two assists, and he will hoping for another start this afternoon against West Ham.
