“This Guy Has Got Something” – Ian Wright Tells Fans Not To Give Up On Chelsea Star

ITV pundit Ian Wright believes Chelsea no.9 Nicolas Jackson has the potential to be a top striker.

Wright, who scored 185 goals for Arsenal, says the 22-year-old has shown in recent matches that he can make it at the highest level:

“I’m seeing Nicolas Jackson by the way… I’ve got to mention him. I watched him fully again [against Aston Villa] and I have watched him in the last three or four games and the chances that he has missed always take precedence when people are talking about him, but I am seeing that guy’s pace, his link, his touch.”

“Something is happening there. If he gets that goalscoring right there is something in there, I’m telling you. He did some brilliant stuff against Villa. I hope it can happen for him. I have seen flashes and if he has the energy and the personality for it, this guy has got something. I am telling you.”

Chelsea fans see it too

Wright will have plenty of supporters echoing his sentiments. Jackson has shown a lot of promise in terms of his link-up play and he possesses the pace to be a real threat to Premier League defences.

The one frustration, though, continues to be his finishing. His lack of consistency in front of goal can be infuriating at times.

Will Jackson be replaced this summer?

Despite his potential, it does look like the Blues will go back into the market to sign another striker in the coming months. Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is known to be on the London club’s radar. However, cheaper alternatives could be sought out.

RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko is also a player who is well-liked in the recruitment department and the fact that the Slovenian international has a €50m (£42m) release clause in his contract will make him a very tempting target.
