‘Really Stepped His Game Up’ ‘Never Doubted Him’ Fans Seeing Promising Signs Of Improvement From Chelsea Summer Signing

Ben Chilwell’s first season at Chelsea has been a bit up and down, to say the least, but there were some good signs against Crystal Palace on Saturday that he is adapting to the left wingback role.

Manager Thomas Tuchel has had to rely on Marcos Alonso at times due to the fact that the Spaniard is more reliable in the final third of the pitch but Chilwell appears to be getting a handle on the attacking side of his game.

There is certainly still room for improvement but supporters on Twitter feel that Chilwell deserves to be singled out for showing some progress in recent games:

It certainly wasn’t the perfect performance at Selhurst Park. The England international was beaten in the air for Christian Benteke’s goal in the second half, and there were a couple of chances he should have scored from, but it is good to see him now getting into the right positions when in possession.
