Chelsea are keeping tabs on Manchester City defender Eric Garcia’s situation, according to reports in the Catalan media.
The Spanish international looked all set to seal a free transfer to Barcelona but the La Liga side have revised their contract proposal, which may lead to the player rejecting the deal.
Garcia’s contract at City expires in the summer, and it is believed that the Blues (as well as Arsenal) could offer the 20-year-old a more lucrative contract in order to persuade him to stay in England instead. However, supporters on Twitter are not in favour of the transfer:
I’d rather have Guehi over this guy

The centre-back is undoubtedly a promising young player, but Chelsea already have a number of other defenders, like Malang Sarr and Marc Guehi, who, it could be argued, possess similar levels of potential.
It was believed that the club’s focus would be on bringing in an experienced defender this summer, rather than simply another youngster.
