‘I Strongly Hope It Will Fall Through’ ‘There Are Better Players Out There’ Chelsea Fans React To David Ornstein’s Latest Transfer Update

Chelsea are having “second thoughts” about signing Barcelona forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to The Athletic‘s David Ornstein.

The trusted journalist claims that the Blues have not made any progress in finding an agreement over a transfer fee for the former Arsenal player:

It seems the majority of supporters on Twitter are not too concerned that Chelsea could potentially miss out on Aubaymeyang, with many feeling there are better options out there:

Manager Thomas Tuchel is believed to be keen on recruiting a forward before the transfer window closes later this week but, in addition to Aubameyang, it appears as if a move for Everton’s Anthony Gordon has also stalled.

With neither Aubameyang nor Gordon expected to make the switch to Stamford Bridge, it does raise the question about who the Blues will pursue instead. One report in Italy over the weekend has suggested that AC Milan’s Rafael Leao could still be a possibility but we shall see if those claims are backed up by more reliable sources in the UK.
