Chelsea V West Ham – Match Preview And Predicted XI

Chelsea are high in confidence heading into the London derby against West Ham on Sunday.

Despite a difficult pre-season for the club, new manager Maurizio Sarri has racked up six straight wins in all competitions following the Community Shield defeat to Manchester City.

The Blues boss rung the changes against PAOK in the Europa League, with star man Eden Hazard rested for the trip to Greece, but the Belgian playmaker will be fit and raring to go to face the Hammers.

However, Pedro looks to be a doubt for the game. The Spaniard suffered what appeared to be a shoulder injury in the 1-0 win yesterday, although Sarri doesn’t believe it to be serious.

Mateo Kovacic has also been suffering from a dead leg but the Croatian is expected to be fit for the weekend. Cesc Fabregas looks to be in contention for a place on the bench after coming on for the last 25 minutes against PAOK as he steps up his recovery from a knee injury.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is also not quite fully fit. The England midfielder was expected to start yesterday’s game, but a leg injury he sustained whilst on international duty kept him from playing.

West Ham have a number of injury concerns of their own. Marko Arnautovic will undergo a late fitness test to see if he is fit to start after sustaining a knee injury in the 3-1 win over Everton last Sunday.

Javier Hernandez is also a doubt due to illness, while Jack Wilshere (ankle), Manuel Lanzini (knee), Winston Reid (knee) and Jack Wilshere (ankle) are all out.

Here’s how we think Chelsea will line up against West Ham:
