Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly has been in touch with the agents of Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar, according to journalist Simon Phillips.

The American billionaire and Behdad Eghbali were in Qatar during the World Cup to meet representatives of a number of players, and Phillips says Neymar’s camp was among those they had conversations with:

Neymar has been mentioned as a potential target in previous transfer windows but we shall see if Boehly’s initial meeting actually leads to anything more concrete this time.

Having talks with agents, even when you don’t intend to make an offer for a player, are not uncommon. However, if Neymar does look for a transfer away from PSG in the future, you can bet that Chelsea will get involved.

The Brazilian is currently earning a staggering £957,000 a week with his current team, and his contract runs until 2025, with an option to extend for another twelve months.
