Chelsea Lining Up Serbian Hitman As Potential Morata Replacement

Chelsea are weighing up a move for Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, according to reports.

Blues boss Maurizio Sarri is said to be unconvinced by Alvaro Morata and is keen on the Serbian international as a possible alternative.

Mitrovic only signed for the Cottagers from Newcastle in a £27m deal in the summer, but he has had a good start to the campaign.

The 24-year-old is currently one behind Eden Hazard in the Premier League goalscoring charts with four goals, and it seems as though Sarri is keen on bringing in the striker when the January transfer window opens.

Olivier Giroud started the 4-1 win over Cardiff City at the weekend, with Morata being an unused substitute after struggling for form at the start of his second season.

The 25-year-old scored against Arsenal last month but has failed to score in his four other appearances for the club so far this campaign. Whether he’ll be reinstated for the Europe League fixture against PAOK on Thursday, we shall have to wait and see.
