Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is back in training ahead of the doubleheader against Manchester City, according to Football.London journalist Adam Newson.
The 26-year-old has been sidelined with a thigh problem since the 1-0 defeat to Newcastle back in the middle of November:
Ruben Loftus-Cheek is back in Chelsea training having recovered from the thigh injury he sustained vs Newcastle.
There’s also hope Ben Chilwell can rejoin the first team next week (after Fulham). He’s been out since the beginning of November. #CFC https://t.co/Trw4gMVmZA

As Newson mentions, Ben Chilwell is also closing in on a return to first team action. The fullback hasn’t played since limping off with a hamstring injury near the end of the 2-1 win over Dinamo Zagreb.
He missed the World Cup as a result and he has undergone two months of extensive rehabilitation to get himself back in contention as soon as possible.
Chilwell will not be available to face City in either the league or the FA Cup, and he may have to wait until after the Fulham match on Thursday week before being ready to play. We, should, therefore, see him back on the bench for the Crystal Palace fixture later this month.
