Latest Chelsea Injury News: Updates On The Fitness Of Fofana, Ziyech, Kovacic And 8 Other Players

Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana hobbled off in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Brentford last week, with it being revealed that he aggravated a knee injury that has kept him out since early October.

Manager Graham Potter has, however, played down the seriousness of the setback, stating the centre-half will only be missing for a “couple of weeks”.

Both Hakim Ziyech and Mateo Kovacic are unlikely to start versus Bournemouth on Tuesday after playing in the World Cup third-place playoff, although they could still be fit enough for the bench.

Mason Mount is a minor doubt with a tight calf muscle, but Reece James (knee) should be ready to start soon. If he is not in the eleven for the Cherries game, he could face either Nottingham Forest or Manchester City in the next ten days.

N’Golo Kante is out until early March with a hamstring injury, while Armando Broja has had surgery after sustaining damage to his anterior cruiciate ligament and he will be sidelined for the rest of the season.

However, there are currently no return dates for the likes of Ben Chilwell (thigh), Ruben Loftus-Cheek (calf), Kepa Arrizabalaga (foot) and Carney Chukwuemeka (hamstring).
