Chelsea striker Armando Broja had to be stretchered off during the friendly against Aston Villa yesterday afternoon.
The Albanian international picked up a suspected knee injury and it is yet to be determined how long he will be sidelined for.
Graham Potter’s side now have eight players out of contention with fitness problems, and supporters on Twitter have been lamenting the team’s injury crisis:

Just time to get some fresh injuries in a meaningless friendly. Same as we did with RLC a few seasons ago.

It certainly didn’t look good when Broja went down, and you do suspect that, if he is out for more than a few weeks, it could force the Blues into the transfer market to strengthen their options up top.
As some fans have mentioned, the spectre of recruiting Cristiano Ronaldo will be raised once again, while other targets (including Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen) could also be considered.
With no real indication as to how serious Broja’s injury is, though, it is not worth speculating about potential transfers at the moment.
