Atletico Madrid have offered Nikola Kalinic and Gelson Martins in an attempt to sign Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata, according to reports.
The Spanish side want to sign the 26-year-old on an initial loan deal (with a €3m loan fee), and can only pay half of the forward’s £120,000 a week wages.
Atletico are aware that the Blues need to find a replacement for Morata so they have decided to propose an offer which would see either Martins or Kalinic moving in the other direction.
Martins joined on a free transfer from Sporting Lisbon in the summer after the player terminated his contract with the Portuguese club following a training ground incident.
Sporting are demanding up to €105m in compensation for the player, but Atletico are looking to offload him now after he failed to nail down a first-team place under manager Diego Simeone.
The 23-year-old has made just four starts in all competitions, making 12 appearances in total.
Kalinic, meanwhile, is also available after failing to perform since his £13m move from Fiorentina in August. The 31-year-old has scored just three times in 17 games for Atletico this campaign.
