Serie A Giants Demand Chelsea Pay £24m For Argentine Marksman’s 18 Month Loan Deal

Juventus would consider allowing Gonzalo Higuain to move to Chelsea on an 18-month loan deal, according to reports in Italy.

However, the Bianconeri would want the Blues to shell out a €27m (£24m) loan fee, as well as paying €27m (£24m) to cover the Argentine striker’s wages.

In what is proving an extremely complicated deal to complete, it appears Juve are open to Milan ending his time early at the San Siro.

Higuain was expected to sign for the Rossoneri at the end of the season for €36m following his loan spell, but the Serie A side’s manager Gennaro Gattuso has revealed that the 31-year-old wants to leave:

“When a player makes up his mind it becomes hard to convince them otherwise. I have a relationship with him that features great honesty – we say things to one another’s face. At the moment, he’s our player and we’re holding on tightly to him.”

It was thought that Chelsea would have to take on Milan’s purchase option but Blues director Marina Granovskaia is believed to be reluctant to sign a player of Higuain’s age.

The London club only give one-year contract extensions to players above 30, and so far she has been reluctant to agree to manager Maurizio Sarri’s request to sign the player.
