Chelsea midfielder Jorginho was again handed the chance to start by Frank Lampard against Norwich. With both N’Golo Kante and Billy Gilmour injured, the Italian has been given his opportunity to impress but he put in a disappointing performance last night.
The pedestrian nature of his passing, combined with his lack of speed when defending, were again on display yesterday, and fans on Twitter did not hold back in their criticism:

It should be pointed out that Jorginho has spent most of his time since the restart on the bench so there will be an element of him lacking match sharpness.
However, saying that, he is clearly lacking some attributes which are essential to be a top player in the Premier League. Against Sheffield United and Norwich, he slowed down the play too much whilst in possession, while his lack of pace means he can get overrun in midfield.
Jorginho’s best performances this season have been when he has played as part of a two-man pivot. When isolated as the only holding midfielder, his limitations are clear for all to see.
