Chelsea have registered their interest in Ajax’s Nicolas Tagliafico as they seek an alternative to Leicester’s Ben Chilwell, according to reports in the UK.
The Blues have been locked in discussions over signing Chilwell for a while but they have failed to find a middle ground with the Foxes over a transfer fee.
Tagiafico, in contrast, is believed to be available for €25m (£22.5m) this summer and a lot of supporters on Twitter think the Argentinan international would be the better signing out of the two players:
Now we're talking. Perfect!?

Chelsea are also said to be keen on Real Madrid’s Sergio Reguilon as they weigh up potential alternatives for Chilwell. There is no doubt that the England international would be manager Frank Lampard’s first choice but the cost of the transfer is proving prohibitive.
Leicester were initially holding out for £80m, although there were claims last week that had dropped to £50m, but he would still cost double what the Blues would have to pay for Tagliafico.
