Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante remains at loggerheads with the club over signing a new contract, according to reports in England.
The Frenchman is believed to be keen on staying at Stamford Bridge but he is still not happy with the length of the extension being proposed. At the moment, the Blues are only offering a two-year deal, with an option for another twelve months, but Kante wants three years. Fans on Twitter are split on the midfielder’s situation. Some believe his age and injury record mean the club are doing the right thing, while others feel giving him an extra season shouldn’t be an issue:
Willian allover again.

Let him play out the season see if he can make it through with no more injuries first. Then go from there

One thing that you do have to remember is that Kante is earning A LOT of money. It is believed that the 31-year-old is on £290,000 a week, and he will want to keep that salary if he signs on the dotted line.
For a player that has been injured a lot in recent years, and whose ability is likely to decline as he reaches his mid thirties, it is a big risk for the club to take.
