Chelsea are considering whether to make a loan offer for Manchester City centre-back John Stones, according to reports in the English media.
The Blues are already lining up a £40m bid for Brighton captain Lewis Dunk but manager Frank Lampard is keen on strengthening the defence further with the City defender.
Stones has fallen out of favour at the Etihad Stadium and is expected to leave the Citizens this summer, but supporters on Twitter don’t understand why the club would be targeting the 26-year-old:
What are we doing…

I hate to say this but I dont get what Frank sees in Stones. Both Zouma and Christensen are better than him. Franks been fantastic with Ziyech and Werner signings but he would take 2 steps back if he signs Stones.

Whether Chelsea would be able to get Stones on loan, it remains to be seen. On the face of it, it would be a low-risk gamble as if he fails to perform, they can always send him back to City.
The England international’s tendency to make individual errors will certainly not fill fans with confidence that he is the solution to their problems at the back.
