Chelsea centre-back Andreas Christensen put in an excellent performance in the 2-1 win over Tottenham yesterday. Despite having to play with a mask due to a broken nose, it didn’t seem to affect his game.

Playing in the middle of the back three, he did not make any mistakes and was always in the right place to clear any danger. Supporters on Twitter have been giving credit to the Danish international following his struggles earlier in the season:

Christensen has had to work hard to get into manager Frank Lampard’s first-team plans. It did appear that he was the fourth-choice centre-back for the opening months of the season, but he is certainly back in favour at the moment.

The move to 3-4-3 looks to favour the 23-year-old’s style of play and the Dane will definitely be looking to build on this top-level performance in upcoming games against the likes of Bayern Munich and Liverpool.
