Werner, Mount And Loftus Cheek To Start, Lukaku And Pulisic On The Bench: Chelsea’s Predicted XI To Face United

Chelsea are riding high heading into tomorrow evening’s game against Manchester United following an extremely impressive win versus Juventus midweek.

Manager Thomas Tuchel won’t want to alter his starting eleven too much but there will be some enforced changes due to injuries.

Edouard Mendy will start in goal, with Marcos Alonso coming in for the injured Ben Chilwell at left wingback. The outstanding Reece James will keep his place on the opposite flank.

Trevoh Chalobah’s superb recent displays mean he deserves to stay in the back three, along with Thiago Silva and Antonio Rudiger. Andreas Christensen will be on the substitute’s bench once again.

Tuchel has all but ruled out N’Golo Kante with a knee problem, so Ruben Loftus-Cheek could be given his opportunity alongside Jorginho in midfield.

Romelu Lukaku is still not ready to start but, with Timo Werner returning to the team with a goal against Juventus, the German could start up front in place of Christian Pulisic. Mason Mount may be recalled ahead of Hakim Ziyech, with Callum Hudson-Odoi retaining his place.

Chelsea’s Predicted XI To Play United:

Mendy, James, Chalobah, Silva, Rudiger, Alonso, Loftus-Cheek, Jorginho, Mount, Werner, Hudson-Odoi
