RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner has said he is open to a move to the Premier League or Spain, but he has no imminent plans to leave the German club:
“The Premier League is certainly the most interesting league, you have to say. There is a certain flair to watching the English league and playing there. Many Germans have also been very successful in Spain, such as Sami Khedira and Mesut Ozil. As of now I have no desire to look for a move elsewhere.”
Bayern Munich have pulled out of the race to sign the 23-year-old with Sporting Director Hasan Salihamidzic stating that they don’t need another forward due to Robert Lewandowski’s excellent form.
That has reportedly left Chelsea as frontrunners for Werner and supporters on Twitter have called on the German international to make the move to Stamford Bridge:
We need this guy

Here’s hoping he gets addicted to destroying Spurs next month and wants to do it for a career in West London?

RB Leipzig are, however, currently top of the Bundesliga table and some fans are worried that the Blues may not be able to prise him away so easily:
He legitimately has no reason to want to go. His team is top of the BayernLiga and they thru to the knockout round of UCL
It's just the sad reality for us.

makes perfect sense, they’re competing for the title. wouldn’t expect him to talk about leaving in the heat of the chase. we’ve got to be guns out in the summer though

After having scored 18 goals in 17 appearances this season, Werner would be an excellent candidate to improve Chelsea’s goalscoring record. Frank Lampard’s side have struggled to break down teams at times, having scored 39 goals in 22 league games this season.
