Sporting Lisbon head coach Ruben Amorim is highly rated by the Chelsea board and could be a left-field choice to replace Graham Potter as manager, according to reports.
The 38-year-old was interviewed for the job when Thomas Tuchel was sacked back in September and the Blues have kept an eye on him. Fans on Twitter are not keen on appointing another untested young manager, and they have called on the club to consider alternatives to Amorim:

@todd_boehly Chelsea is not a small club…Get Chelsea a world class manager and we're going to compete for every trophy…Enough of these average coaches…
Luis Enrique is the right candidate for the job…

Unfortunately, we need to pay up for him, which adds more pressure. And he only has one decently sized club experience. Not as much as Julian. Has to be Nagglesmann.

Chelsea is too big to be trying up and coming coaches.

Amorim is expected to be interviewed for the role once again, with Julian Nagelsmann, Luis Enrique, Mauricio Pochettino, Oliver Glasner and Luciano Spalletti also in contention.
Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi has however, reportedly, opted against following in Potter’s footsteps and he won’t put himself forward to become the next Blues manager.
At the bookies, former Bayern boss Nagelsmann remains the favourite, but that could change as Chelsea ramp up their search in the coming days.
