It is fair to say that Chelsea winger Willian has not always been a favourite amongst the fans but his recent form has been nothing short of superb.
Following his goal against Lille in midweek, he put in another excellent display in the 4-1 win against Southampton yesterday. Fans on Twitter are surprised by the Brazilian’s improvement but are happy to give credit where credit’s due:
Willian was superb today. Took me by surprise honestly.

Willian will always be a blue. A leader who talks with his feet. His loyalty and respect for the club?.

Manager Frank Lampard is certainly getting the balance right between youth and experience at the moment. The likes of Jorginho, N’Golo Kante, Cesar Azpilicueta and Willian are complimenting the youngsters very well.
The results are certainly being decided by the young players, with the likes of Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount getting on the scoresheet, but the game management and tactical knowledge that their older teammates, like Willian, can provide is also important.
The Brazilian provided an excellent assist for Mount to score the second yesterday, and with his contract expiring in the summer, some will now be calling on the club to renew the 31-year-old’s deal.
