‘That’s Silly Money’ ‘Thank You, Next’ Chelsea Fans Call On Club To Switch Targets After Target’s Valuation Is Revealed

Rennes are demanding Chelsea pay in excess of £30m for goalkeeper Eduoard Mendy, according to reports in the English media.

The Blues have already made two bids for the Senegalese international, with the second reported to be in the region of €20m (£18m), but it appears the two clubs are miles apart in their valuations of the player.

Supporters on Twitter don’t think Mendy is worth the money and have called on the club to move on to other targets:

The entire point of going after the 28-year-old in the first place was due to the fact he was a cheaper option than the likes of Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak, and his steep asking price may lead to Chelsea seeking another solution.

With Ajax’s Andre Onana said to be valued at around £30m by Ajax, the Cameroon international may well be looked at as a potential alternative, considering he is four years younger than Mendy.
