Chelsea are in talks to sign Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell, according to the Guardian reporter Fabrizio Romano. The reliable Italian journalist claims that the 23-year-old is interested in moving to Stamford Bridge.
However, if the Blues can’t come to an agreement with the Foxes, manager Frank Lampard does have a fallback option in Ajax fullback Nicolas Tagliafico.
Fans on Twitter are split on whether Chelsea should go after Chilwell or Tagliafico:
Tears in my eyes man. Roman is back.

Chilwell for £45m is fine. Anymore than £50m go for Tagilafico. Chilwell is better and younger but no point going too high

At this rate I think it's almost certain Chilwell will be a Chelsea player next season

really hope we will go for tagliafico.
not sayin chilwell is bad but clearly the other options are better, only thing chilwell has on his side is age, nationality and pl exp (only relevent thing actually )— mouh (@MouhSai) June 5, 2020

I don't want to spend more than 30m on him we can get better players for half the money
— CHANDHAN (@chadhutweets) June 5, 2020
If we get him for under £50M then go for it. Higher than that go for tagliafico.

Tagliafico is reportedly available for €25m (£22m), which is likely to be a third of the price which Chilwell could be sold for. The England international is, though, Lampard’s preferred target and it appears the London club are doing all they can to sign him.
If the Blues do manage to agree a deal, it would cap off an incredible few months in the transfer market, with the capture of Hakim Ziyech as well as the impending signing of Timo Werner.
