Sarri Calls On Chelsea To End Uncertainty Over Hazard’s Future

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has called on the club to end the uncertainty over Eden Hazard’s future.

The Belgian midfielder’s contract expires in 2020, but the player has stopped short of saying that he will sign an extension despite hinting he would like to become a legend at the club.

Speaking at his press conference yesterday, Sarri said he wants Hazard’s contract situation resolved as soon as possible:

“I think we have to solve the problem. If we want to plan the future, we have to solve this problem. I don’t know [what Hazard is thinking], but I think that it’s time to decide.”

The Italian revealed that he hasn’t talked to the midfielder about his future, stating that it is the responsibility of the club to ensure that the 27-year-old is tied down for the long term.

However, it appears Hazard won’t be committing to the Blues any time soon. The Belgian international has made it clear he will make his decision in the summer, with his current attention being on his performances on the pitch:

“To be fair, I am just focused on the pitch. I will see at the end of the season.”

The playmaker has been in superb form this campaign, having scored 12 goals and provided nine assists in 22 appearances.
