Hazard Hints At Long-Term Chelsea Stay After Reaching Goal Milestone

Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard has indicated that he may be staying at Stamford Bridge for the long-term after reaching 100 goals for the club.

The Belgian scored a brace as Maurizio Sarri’s side secured a 2-1 victory against Watford at Vicarage Road last night, and the 27-year-old now says he wants to emulate some Chelsea legends:

“Scoring 101 goals with this amazing club is something I will never forget, but now I think the fans, the staff, myself, the players, we want more.”

“I want to score more for this club and then try to be a legend like [Frank] Lampard, [John]Terry, [Didier] Drogba, I try to do my best. But when we are winning we can enjoy a lot.”

Hazard’s contract expires in 2020, and he is yet to sign a new deal to keep him at the club beyond next season.

Reports of a move to Real Madrid have never been far from the headlines, with the latest story coming out from Spain suggesting that the La Liga side could offer both Mateo Kovacic and Isco to facilitate a transfer.

However, Hazard’s latest comments do indicate that the Belgian international is thinking about rejecting the overtures from Madrid in order to sign on the dotted line with the Blues. The midfielder has now scored 101 goals in 322 games for the club since arriving from Lille in 2012.
