Roma willing to listen to offers for star midfielder

AS Roma will listen to offers for Radja Nainggolan this summer, according to reports.

The Belgian – who was left out of Roberto Martinez’s World Cup squad – has been heavily linked with a move away from the Serie A giants in recent summers to both Chelsea and Manchester United, however I Giallorossi were unwilling to part ways with their star midfielder.

However now claim Roma are willing to part ways with the 30-year-old, and have already opened talks with rivals with Inter Milan about a potential switch.

But Nainggolan is unlikely to favour a move to Milan should he leave Roma this summer, having previously spoken of his desire to play in the Premier League one day.

Roma are also likely to prefer Nainggolan to make the move to England rather than lose him to one of their rival clubs in Italy.

The news will come as a huge boost to Chelsea and Antonio Conte especially, with the Italian a big admirer of the Belgian and having previously tried to lure him to Stamford Bridge.

Prior to Chelsea’s Champions League clash with Roma earlier in the season, Conte spoke very highly of Nainggolan, saying: “In the past, we tried to buy him but now Nainggolan is Roma’s player and I have great respect for him, great respect for Roma and great respect for my players.

“He’s a really good player, for me one of the best midfielders.”

Nainggolan’s contract with Roma expires in 2021, and the Serie A side are unlikely to listen to any offers short of £40 million for the highly rated midfielder.
