Rio Ferdinand Makes Surprising Prediction About Which PL Clubs Pochettino And Nagelsmann Will Join

BT Sport pundit Rio Ferdinand has predicted that Chelsea will end up appointing Mauricio Pochettino as Graham Potter’s successor.

Julian Nagelsmann is currently the bookies’ favourite to take the hot seat at Stamford Bridge but Ferdinand claims the German could be hired by Tottenham instead:

“I’m going Pochettino to Chelsea because [Daniel] Levy doesn’t look interested at the moment; he would have taken him already if he was going to go to Spurs… I think Nagelsman might go Spurs.”

Ferdinand doesn’t really go into detail as to why he feels Chelsea would pick Pochettino. The Argentine has a proven track record in English football, but he isn’t currently one of the frontrunners.

Along with Nagelsmann, former Barcelona head coach Luis Enrique is believed to be the other outstanding candidate for the job. Multiples reports have now claimed that the Spaniard has impressed the club’s hierarchy in initial talks and he is heading to London for more formal discussions.

Of course, things could change in the coming days when more interviews are conducted by the Blues, so it would be unwise to dismiss Pochettino’s chances at this stage.
