Champions League Winning Manager Has Travelled To London After ‘Impressing’ Chelsea In Initial Interview

Former Spain head coach Luis Enrique is heading to London to hold more talks with Chelsea about replacing Graham Potter, according to The Independent.

After “impressing” the Blues board in his first interview, it appears that he will meet face-to-face with his potential future employers.

Enrique has been considered for the Chelsea job before but one of the key factors that ruled him out of contention previously was his poor English.

It is believed that the Spaniard has improved in that regard, and his playing philosophy is also seen as an attraction, as it would make the best use of the Blues’ young squad.

After winning the Champions League with Barcelona in 2015, Enrique does have a track record that would match the club’s ambitions. In fact, it would be fair to say that his trophy haul as a manager is somewhat more impressive than the other candidates being considered for the role.
