REPORT: Chelsea Are ‘Best Placed’ To Sign £71M Rated Brazilian Ace With His Agent In ‘Open’ Dialogue With The Club

Chelsea are “best placed” to snap up Barcelona winger Raphinha, according to Sport.

The Catalan publication has revealed that the Brazilian international could leave the Camp Nou at the end of the season, fearing that the return of Lionel Messi could limit his game time.

It is believed that the Blues have been in “open” dialogue with Raphinha’s agent, Deco, since last summer, when they originally lost out to Barca for the player’s signature.

With there now being a possibility that the 26-year-old will become available again, Sport suggest that another attempt could be made to sign him in the coming weeks.

There will be competition from Premier League rivals. Arsenal are said to be keen, with their sporting director Edu having kept in touch with Deco, while Newcastle could also get involved.

Raphinha’s asking price will be between €70m (£62m) and €80m (£71m) so it remains to be seen whether Chelsea can match the valuation with Financial Fair Play regulations being a factor.
