Chelsea are one of the leading contenders to sign Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha on a free transfer, according to reports in the UK.
The Ivorian has been offered a lucrative £200,000 a week contract to remain at Selhurst Park but he could well be on the move when his current deal expires at the end of June. Considering the sheer number of wingers that the Blues already have in their first-team squad, the links to Zaha are surprising and most fans on Twitter don’t believe he will be making the switch to Stamford Bridge:
Why?

I hate seeing this news again. Chelsea is always linked with Zaha every transfer window. 😡

Chelsea are going on a wrong foot again. Going for players when they have not appointed new head Coach for next season yet.
Are they going to impose new players on him?— Red Rose🌹🦋 Chelsea First Lady (@Roseangel009) May 3, 2023
We have to first sell.

It should be noted that Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi could all leave the Blues this summer so there would probably be space for another winger.
However, you do feel that the priority has to be on getting players off the books before bringing in new additions. In terms of Zaha, he is now 30 years of age and would command a big wage, so you would think that there would be better options out there too.
