Pulisic To Start, Alonso On The Bench: Chelsea’s Predicted XI To Face Liverpool

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard would have been delighted by the performance against Manchester United in the FA Cup at the weekend, and he will be looking to carry that momentum into tonight’s game versus Liverpool.

The Blues boss may opt to switch to a back four at Anfield, having played 4-3-3 in all three games they have faced the Reds in this season.

That could mean that Marcos Alonso is dropped from the eleven, with Cesar Azpilicueta moving from his centre-back role to left-back. Reece James could line up at right-back, with Kurt Zouma and Antonio Rudiger in the centre of defence.

In midfield, N’Golo Kante’s injury will likely mean that Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho will start once more, with Mason Mount possibly taking up a more central role.

That would allow Christian Pulisic to come back into the team. The American was only a substitute against United due to a minor injury but he should be fit to start this evening. Willian is expected to start on the right with Olivier Giroud playing through the middle.

Chelsea’s Predicted XI To Face Liverpool:

Kepa, James, Zouma, Rudiger, Azpilicueta, Kovacic, Jorginho, Mount, Willian, Giroud, Pulisic
