Out-Of-Favour Chelsea Star Spotted In Barcelona Dressing Room After El Clasico Win

Chelsea forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was pictured in the dressing room of Spanish giants Barcelona after their dramatic El Clasico victory over Real Madrid on Sunday evening.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Aubameyang still has an ‘excellent relationship’ with several of Barcelona’s players – including Barca manager Xavi.

Romano also reports that Aubameyang wanted to return to his former club in the January transfer window, but was unable to do so due to ‘FIFA rules’. Additionally, Romano also wrote that Aubameyang is ‘almost out of the Chelsea project’, implying that a move away from the club could come sooner rather than later.

Aubameyang was not featured in Chelsea’s squad at the weekend, as the Blues drew 2-2 with Sean Dyche’s Everton.

Since joining Chelsea in September of 2022, the pacy Gabonese hitman has proven to be something of a flop. He has only made 12 appearances for the Blues in the Premier League so far, scoring just a single goal. He’s been more successful in the Champions League – in that competition, he has scored two goals and notched up one assist in six games.

Conversely, the former Arsenal man had a much more fruitful time at Barcelona – there, he found the back of the net eleven times across 18 appearances for the Catalonians.

Aubameyang began his career at AC Milan, where he was sent out on a series of loan spells, before moving permanently to Saint-Etienne. He would rise to international acclaim at Borussia Dortmund, before moving to Arsenal in January 2018 for a then-club record fee.
