‘Not Yet Ruled Out…’ Matt Law Claims Chelsea Could Revive Move For 21 Year Old Midfielder Despite Initial Snub

Chelsea have “not yet ruled out” making another approach for Everton midfielder Amadou Onana, according to the Daily Telegraph‘s Matt Law.

The reliable journalist has confirmed initial reports that the 21-year-old “rejected” an “initial proposal” from the Blues, but there is a chance that he could be persuaded to change his mind:

There is, however, an added complication. It is believed that Chelsea would like to propose a swap deal, rather than offering straight-up cash for Onana.

Graham Potter’s squad is extremely bloated and the London club are keen to offload a number of players before the transfer deadline on Tuesday.

While Everton may be open to such an arrangement, it is felt that many of those who would be considered by Chelsea as potential makeweights are unwilling to join a team threatened with relegation.

With Onana seemingly reluctant to move as well, the chances of this transfer being completed look low at this stage.
