“Nobody Would Turn Down An Offer From Chelsea…” 100M Rated South American Star Speaks Out On Potential Transfer

Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo says he would have no hesitation about joining Graham Potter at Chelsea.

The Ecuadorian has expressed his disappointment about the manager’s departure from the Amex but, when asked if he would consider linking up with his former boss at Stamford Bridge, he replied:

“I think they are one of the best teams in the world and nobody would turn down an offer from Chelsea or any other club like that. It’d be a dream to be in the best teams in the world and succeed there.”

A number of clubs were reportedly after Caicedo in the summer, including Manchester United and Liverpool, but Potter himself was the one who priced him out of a move.

Last month, there were reports that Liverpool were lining up a €50m (£43m) offer for the 20-year-old. It was a figure that was derided by Potter who said the midfielder was worth closer to £100m.

It means reuniting with Caicedo in January or at the end of the season may not be that easy, as Brighton are likely to use Potter’s own words to provide a basis for their valuation.

Of course, it is pure speculation whether the new Chelsea boss is actually keen on pursuing his former player, but there is no doubt that the midfield could do with some strengthening.
