‘He’s Going To Score Lots Of Goals’ Chelsea Boss Praises Newly-Signed Striker In Interview

Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino has had plenty of nice things to say about newly-signed Nicolas Jackson in an interview with The Athletic.

He believes that the Senegalese striker will ‘score lots of goals’ over the course of his career and that he is ‘going to be fantastic for us’.

While Pochettino conceded that he is ‘still young’ he believes he will be a success on account of his ‘character and capacity to improve quickly.’

What did Mauricio Pochettino have to say regarding Nicolas Jackson?

Speaking on Jackson’s qualities, Pochettino said: “[He is] Really good. He’s still young but he has the character and capacity to improve quickly. He’s going to score lots of goals.

“His work ethic on the pitch, how he presses, his quality when he drives the ball and his technique when he’s running at intensity is really unbelievable. He’s going to be fantastic for us.”

Will Nicolas Jackson be a success at Chelsea this season?

Following a disastrous campaign in the 2022/23 season that saw the Blues go through three different head coaches, Chelsea are currently embroiled in a crucial period of transition.

As such, Blues fans may need to exercise patience in regards to success. There is still much to do in improving the squad – so it may be a good idea not to judge any new signings on their first few games for the club.

So far, Jackson has made two starts for Chelsea in the Premier League, playing the full 90 minutes of both games, but has yet to score a goal or register an assist.

Nevertheless, he has looked quite spritely so far. He has struggled to deal with the physicality of Premier League centre-backs, but he has been very energetic and has made some dangerous runs in behind.

So far, it seems that his composure in front of goal is not the best – but his ability on the ball, his movement and his blinding quickness make up for it.

His first competitive goal for Chelsea will come in time – will he be able to register it during the Blues’ game against Luton Town on Friday evening?
