‘Next Messi’ To Chelsea?

Chelsea look set to inquire about the services of Andrija Zivkovic. The 18-year-old, who is dubbed the next Messi by many, has already appeared for Serbia and has played a key role for his club Partizan Belgrade. An attacking midfielder/ winger, Zivkovic is an exciting player with huge potential.

According to Sport Witness, the winger is on Chelsea’s radar, and could be set to move to the club as early as this summer, although it is likely he would be loaned back to Belgrade. There are also reports that Chelsea will loan out the player to Samdoria. This is in-part due to work permit issues.

Chelsea’s policy on loaning out players means that they have youngsters at clubs around Europe who are learning their trade at a high level. A loan move seems to favour the Blues when it comes to bringing players through.

Živković joined Partizan in September 2009 and signed his first professional contract with the club on 23 August 2013. He became Partizan’s youngest captain of all-time at 17 years, 7 months and 18 days in March 2014, in what was a remarkable achievement.

As of now, Zivkovic has made just under 50 appearances for Partizan, and scored 10 goals, showing just what he is about at such a young age. The lad clearly has talent, now it seems he is ready to step up to the big leagues and test his ability at the highest level.

There is no fee reported as of yet, however I don’t see it being astronomical due to his age.
