Mourinho Rules Out Pogba Move

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho certainly hasn’t been as busy in the transfer market this summer as he would’ve liked. Whilst both Manchester rivals look to be doing business early in an attempt to prize away the title from the Blues, Chelsea seem reluctant to vastly improve their championship squad.. Who can blame them?!

Mourinho is one of many managers in football touted with a move for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba. The Frenchman has made his name as one of the most exciting players in the world since leaving Manchester United in 2012, however Chelsea will not be his next destination according to the boss.

Mourinho had this to say on Pogba, typical brilliance from the Portuguese:

“Pogba is one of the top players in the world. Pogba goes to any team and improves that team automatically.”

“I think everybody has an interest in Pogba. But there are things you can do and things you cannot do. I love the Eiffel Tower but I can’t have the Eiffel Tower in my garden. I can’t even have the Eiffel Tower of Las Vegas.”

So that’s that! Paul Pogba’s move to Chelsea looks almost certainly dead in the water this summer. Although the news may come as a disappointment to the fans, it must be reminded that Pogba is a player who’s price has been quoted anywhere from £60 million upwards!

Chelsea’s attention will now surely turn to the defence, a position which Mourinho admitted is ageing and has already attempted to make additions to in the shape of John Stones.
