Mourinho Miffed By Terry Injury Setback

John Terry has been a resurgent force this season for the Blues ever since the return of Mourinho to Stamford Bridge. At 33 years of age, his career looked like it was in decline at the back end of last season under interim boss Rafa Benitez, however Mourinho has reinvigorated the former England captain and JT is one of Chelsea’s mainstays this term.

His influence on the back 4 has grown along with his form, and he is one of the biggest reasons behind Chelsea’s enviable defensive record this season. Terry has been forced to sit out the last three fixtures through a muscle injury however, and his absence has been seriously felt as they have only won one of those three games – losing to City and drawing with WBA.

Understandably, Mourinho is eager to have his captain back playing again, but ESPNFC are reporting that he is miffed by Chelsea’s medical team who have failed to get JT fit in a timely fashion, the effects of which have been on show as Chelsea were dumped out of the FA Cup by Manchester City.

Mourinho spoke to the press after the game where he expressed his unhappiness at the Chelsea medical team as he said, “The medical department always tell me he looks like he is ready,”

“I was told he would probably play this game. He didn’t, so now do they say for sure he plays the next game? I don’t know.”

With Everton up next at the weekend, the Portugese manager will be hoping that he will have his reliable rear guard back in the team.
