Mount And Chilwell To Start, Werner Dropped: Chelsea’s Predicted XI To Play Leeds

It’s very difficult to predict Thomas Tuchel’s starting lineups simply because the Chelsea manager rotates his team so much.

One player who is almost guaranteed to play against Leeds tomorrow, though, is Edouard Mendy, who Tuchel has said will remain his number one goalkeeper.

The return of Thiago Silva to full fitness may see the Brazilian reintroduced to the starting eleven but Tuchel could persist with a backline that has served him well so far. Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen will likely keep their places, with Antonio Rudiger expected to come in for Kurt Zouma.

Reece James could line up in the right wingback role but there is more uncertainty about the left flank. Marcos Alonso played well versus Everton but Tuchel may feel he needs more protection against Leeds, so Ben Chilwell could come in.

N’Golo Kante did not start on Monday so the Frenchman is likely to replace Jorginho in the side, with Mateo Kovacic playing alongside him.

Timo Werner’s continued profligacy in front of goal may see him benched in favour of Mason Mount, with Kai Havertz and Callum Hudson-Odoi making up the rest of the front three.

Chelsea’s Predicted XI To Face Leeds:

Mendy, James, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rudiger, Chilwell, Kante, Kovacic, Mount, Havertz, Hudson-Odoi
