First up is Benoit Badiashile, who Chelsea snapped up from Monaco for a reported fee of £35 million. A dependable, technically sound centre back who can play on either side, Badiashile is the ideal defender for the modern game.
Badiashile has been capped by his native France, but missed out on the final squad for the 2022 World Cup. However, aged just 21, there will be plenty of future opportunities for him.
While at Monaco, Badiashile scored two goals across 11 Ligue 1 appearances this season.
