Matt Law Names The FOUR Managers That Chelsea Have Targeted After Nagelsmann Withdrew From Talks

Chelsea have shortlisted ex-Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino and Burnley manager Vincent Kompany but they have also done their “due diligence” on two other coaches, according to the Daily Telegraph’s Matt Law.

After Julian Nagelsmann decided to withdraw from discussions about becoming the Blues’ next permanent manager, the London club have been looking around at other options:

Pochettino and Kompany were believed to be already in the frame prior to Nagelsmann’s decision to back out of talks, but Chelsea have also considered Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou and Feyenoord’s Arne Slot.

Postecoglou took charge of Celtic at the start of last season, and he is on course to win his second consecutive Scottish Premiership title. Slot, meanwhile, looks poised to become Eredivisie champions with Feyenoord.

Chelsea’s shortlist is said to include three names but Law doesn’t make it clear whether either Postecoglou or Slot is still under consideration. Pochettino is the firm favourite to take the job but so was Nagelsmann not so long ago.
