Lawrenson Makes His Prediction For Chelsea’s Clash Against Arsenal In The Europa League Final

TV pundit Mark Lawrenson is backing Chelsea to edge Arsenal in the Europa League Final tomorrow night.

The former defender believes it will be a very open game in Baku and he thinks Blues star Eden Hazard will prove decisive in who lifts the trophy:

“I am expecting it to be extremely open when finals are usually tight. That’s why I think, whatever the scoreline, there will be a few goals.”

“Who will win it? It is hard to say because both teams are so inconsistent and both also have brilliant individuals who are capable of being match-winners.”

“Chelsea’s Eden Hazard is one of them. This is almost certainly his last game for the club, with Real Madrid circling, and that probably just tips the tie in the Blues’ favour for me.”

Lawrenson has gone for a 3-2 win for Chelsea and, considering both teams have been inconsistent and have poor defensive records in recent months, it seems like a sensible shout.

An end to end game could result in a goal fest, but finals can be very hard to predict. Nerves can play a big role in who performs well on the night.

With the experience of Hazard, David Luiz, Cesar Azplicueta and Pedro, winning a host of titles and cup finals during their careers, you’d expect the Blues to cope with the occasion better.

Still, tactics will also play a part, and manager Maurizio Sarri will have to outwit Unai Emery after his system was left exposed at the Emirates back in January.
