Latest Chelsea Injury Report: Updates On Silva, Fofana, James And Kante

Chelsea centre-back Thiago Silva is suffering with a tight hamstring and a decision will be made about whether he is rested for the Brentford game ahead of the clash against Manchester United this weekend.

Wesley Fofana sustained a sprained knee in the 3-0 home win versus AC Milan earlier this month and, while the injury was not as bad as first feared, the defender will still be sidelined until after the World Cup.

Reece James picked up his own knee issue in the second game against Milan and he is likely to be out for eight weeks. The defender says he is hopeful of returning earlier than expected but the diagnosis suggests he will only be back in action around mid-December.

N’Golo Kante is the player that has suffered the biggest injury setback. Earlier this week, it was decided that the Frenchman would undergo surgery to fix a hamstring problem. He will now be out of contention for up to four months.
