Latest Chelsea Injury News Ahead of Newcastle Clash

Chelsea take on Newcastle on Saturday afternoon as Rafa Benitez returns to Stamford Bridge.

Newcastle have had a tough run of games recently, winning none in their last 5 league games. They go into the game at Stamford Bridge in 12th place, 5 points off the relegation places.

Chelsea on the other hand are unbeaten in their last 6 Premier League games, and sit 3rd in the table. Their performances haven’t been outstanding of late, but they have continually grinded out the results necessary to win games.

It is a must win game for the Blues, who find themselves 11 points off league leaders Manchester City. Any more dropped points would be disastrous.

The Blues will be expected to be without defender David Luiz, who is absent with a knee injury – with no return date set just yet.

Striker Michy Batshuayi is also out with an ankle injury, and will face a late fitness test ahead of the game, but the Belgian is a major doubt for the match.

Charly Musonda and Kenedy have knee and muscular injuries respectively, and both look set to miss out.

Manager Antonio Conte was sent off during their last game against Swansea, but he is likely to return to the dug-out against Newcastle United.
